Meet Your Tribe
The Black Mom Collective was designed with you at heart. Founder, President and Black mother, Brittiona Lewis, is passionate about advocacy for Black moms, by Black moms. Wife and mother of one, Brittiona couldn’t find the right outlets that represented, understood and assisted Black moms without scouring the Internet. So, she created one.
The Black Mom Collective promotes positivity in Black motherhood; advocates for companies to see the value in considering and catering to Black moms; reshapes the narrative around Black motherhood and sheds light on the fact that there is no “one size fits all” for Black moms. This is a group of women who want to implement change that will include the image and perspective of Black moms in our community.
The Black Mom Collective provides Black moms and women a haven for all things you. From resources and information about pregnancy and motherhood to workshops on self-care and financial freedom, The Black Mom Collective caters to emboldening Black women to find community and their fit + flow.
Our approach is challenging the status quo with motherhood, carving a lane for introverted mothers, breaking negative generational parenting techniques, helping mommies find their fit and flow with motherhood/wifehood, dynamic community impact, and implementing programs to increase diversity and inclusion with brands and communities.
Hi there, I'm Brittiona
I’m a mother, wife and advocate for Black moms and women all over the world. I created The Black Mom Collective in response to Blackout Day. I noticed major brands abruptly posting black squares on social media in response to the countless murders of Black men, women, and children, in which they made no prior mention of the Black Lives Matters movement before. The Collective was formed to advocate on behalf of Black mothers; and hold brands accountable for establishing long term plans to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that benefit our community. In addition to the original mission, it also became a sanctuary for all things Black mamahood.
Fed up and frustrated with finding little to no avenues with resources specifically designed for Black women and moms, I decided to make my own. The Black Mom Collective focuses on sisterhood and inviting Black mothers into the conversation with corporations and job opportunities. I ensure The Black Mom Collective’s brand pillars to include information and access to Health & Wellness, Financial Literacy, Education, Parenting and New Motherhood.
I am adamant that Black women are not boxed into a category of “one size fits all.” I fight to stay true to myself (which means being a proud Leo and requiring acquaintances to learn how to pronounce my name, and not simply call me “Britt”), and I embolden Black moms to do the same.
